Choosing the Best Foundry Jacket for You and Your Workers Needs

At Elliotts, we pride ourselves on working with our customers to create what they want, how they want it.

We pride ourselves on our ability to listen to and incorporate customer feedback. Our wide range of cast gears is the result of decades of customer feedback.

Below is a quick guide to choosing the best foundry jacket for you and your employees.

Center closure foundry jacketcenter closure jacket

Center closure jackets have a central front opening. The closure is a 50mm FR hook and loop closure with press studs placed 100mm apart from him. The closure is very secure and leaves no opening when bent over. Design options are:

standard โ€“ Fully aluminized (back and front) with action back for greater movement. This design has a loose fit and provides the wearer with her 360 degrees of protection.

with vent โ€“ Fully aluminized (back and front) with horizontal vents across shoulders for increased ventilation. Layering the fabric reduces the chance of sparks and splashes entering the vents. The “Vent” option is more suitable when the front of the body faces the hazard.

combo โ€“ Aluminized front, sleeves, back shoulders and Proban cotton back. The ‘combo’ design saves weight and features vents for increased airflow. The “combo” design works best when the hazard is facing the front of the body.

These lengths are 800mm, 1000mm and 1300mm.

The side closure jacket opening is off-center on the front of the jacket. Side closures prove to be more durable as the off-center opening is not exposed to the same level as the center closure. The closure is a 50mm FR hook and loop closure with press studs placed 100mm apart from him. The closure is very secure and there are no gaps when crouching. Design options are:

Tailored jackets for each worker

Providing our employees with high-quality personal protective equipment (PPE) is a top priority. Oversized or undersized jackets affect the amount of protection workers get when dealing with hazardous tasks. We recommend getting a cast jacket of type and length.
