Changing into new jeans can be difficult. When choosing new jeans, find a pair that seems to fit perfectly, then he actually recommends buying a style one size smaller.

Generally speaking, 100% cotton denim will stretch from an inch to an inch and a half in the first three months of wear.

Others suggest buying your perfect size, wearing them for a few days, and then sitting in a hot tub with your jeans on for about 20 minutes.

Once soaked, remove the jeans and hang them in the sun on a clothesline to dry.

Therefore, even if it shrinks to some extent, it will shrink to your size and the waist will not shrink. Once the jeans are dry, you can try them on and squat down a bit to get the right feel.

Do jeans change size when washed?

Some people may only wash their jeans once in a while, but washing them can actually extend the life of your pants.

When you wash your jeans, it’s important to remove bacteria, dirt, and sweat. This is because sweat and dirt can contribute to the decomposition of the fabric and accelerate its wear.

If your jeans have stretched a bit, we recommend running your normal wash cycle at the hottest temperature.

Avoid adding softeners. After washing, put it in the dryer on the highest setting. The heat causes the fibers in the denim to shrink, making the jeans feel snug the next time you put them on.

What if the waistband of your jeans is still too loose?

You don’t necessarily need a belt to keep your jeans from falling off. If the waistband stretches too much and won’t shrink after washing and drying, sew an elastic band to the inside back of the waistband or take it to a tailor to have it adjusted.

Polyester trousers are not stretchy because fibers made from polyester are inherently inelastic. Polyester is designed to maintain its original shape and withstand rough handling and increased wear. They may seem to give when wet, but that’s not a significant way to make a difference.

Common synthetic polyesters may gain some degree of “stretch” when blended with another fiber such as spandex, also known as elastane or lycra.

In this case, the final blended fabric will have a stretchy feel, but pants made of polyester or polyester blends will not get bulky when worn.
